“The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much…” James 5:16
Aloha Friends: Thank you all for joining us
last night whether in body or spirit or both for the National Day of Prayer. I was so blessed by everyone’s
participation, heart, and faith as we met in unity with believers from across the nation to pray and intercede for our country,
state and island. I want to thank Mayor Baptiste and the County of Kaua`i for their support, use of the gathering area,
and prayers and attendance. Thank you to Delia Astrologio and family, Ross Asuncion, Mark Hendrickson family and friends,
Lihue Missionary guys, Sara Hill and the North Shore Rad night crew, to all the churches and pastors for your support and
prayers and, especially to our Lord Jesus, who makes it all possible and worthwhile.
It was so encouraging to see our young people step up
to the microphone and boldly lead us in prayers that were heartfelt and powerful. I pray that you will continue
to press into intercession and intimacy with the Lord and with an ever increasing zeal and courage make war on the
kingdom of darkness. You are mighty in God and an inspiration to us all. I believe that Thursday
night was a breakthrough time for our island and that we are going to see many more great things from the hand
of God as we fervently pray.
The verse above along with v. 17 that follows
speaks about the power of prayer and how circumstances (even weather) and history can be changed
through prayer. The Bible also says that “the
heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord… He turns it wherever he wishes.” We have been
given a precious gift and privilege, as well as a solemn charge in this invitation
from our Creator and King to join with Him in seeing lives
changed, hurting people healed, captives set free, souls saved and delivered from sin, and the Kingdom of God established
in the earth. Somehow God has planned it that we get to partner with Him in His unstoppable purpose that the
whole earth will “be filled with knowledge of the Glory of God”. How
good is that? Let us continue to pursue Him with all our hearts and to know that He will answer
our cries (even as He is answering) as we humble ourselves before Him, and with faith and thanksgiving, make
our requests known to Him. May He give us His heart and conform us to His image. Blessings
upon you all.
